Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to deliver expert financial advice and a high standard of service to a portfolio of accounting clients, primarily consisting of small to medium-sized owner-managed businesses.

Description

  • Manage and maintain a portfolio of clients, ensuring a high level of service
  • Monitor job progress against timelines and billing targets
  • Track and manage key deadlines to ensure timely delivery of work
  • Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies
  • Complete self-assessment tax returns accurately and efficiently
  • Prepare corporation tax computations and submit returns
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
  • Utilise accounting software such as IRIS, Sage, Dext, and Xero effectively
  • Deliver work to a consistently high standard within agreed deadlines
  • Respond to client queries promptly and professionally
  • Support and mentor colleagues and trainees, providing technical guidance where needed
  • Carry out additional duties as required, in line with the responsibilities of the role

Profile

A successful Tax Specialist should have:

  • A strong background in tax within the professional services industry.
  • Relevant qualifications in tax or accountancy. AAT, ACA, CTA
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • Strong communication and confidence in providing advice and recommendations to clients.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in tax compliance work.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and addressing client needs.
