This is a full-time role as Tax Manager reporting to the Head of External Reporting at TGJones, part of the new structure which has been created.

What you will be doing

• Responsibility for the completion of all Group corporate tax computations, including a large retail trading computation and several smaller computations for companies and branches in Jersey, Isle of Man, and Guernsey. You will also prepare the half-year and full-year tax disclosures, working closely with the Finance team on tax numbers and periodic tax journals.
• Manage tax provisioning in statutory accounts and annual budgeting across taxes.
• Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion of the tax provisioning process.
• Complete quarterly VAT returns for the group.
• Coordinate with HMRC to resolve queries related to direct and indirect taxes, including high-level Customs Duty enquiries.
• Develop relationships with external advisers to maximize tax planning opportunities.
• Address tax-related queries from the business and proactively contribute to business development and projects, presenting comprehensive tax solutions to stakeholders.

Who we are looking for

• CTA qualified with 3-5 years of diverse tax experience in industry.
• An accountancy qualification such as ACCA is advantageous.
• Drive and ambition to develop the tax role and awareness within the business, with experience in a multi-functional tax environment.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate autonomy in compliance and daily responsibilities, supported by the Finance team.
• Knowledge or experience of payroll and stamp taxes is a plus but not essential.
