Tax Lawyer

A respected law firm based in Islington is seeking an experienced Tax Lawyer to join their established Wealth and Estates Planning team. This full-time, permanent hybrid position offers an excellent opportunity for a talented Tax Lawyer to work closely with solicitors in delivering tax-efficient solutions tailored to high-net-worth individuals and business owners.

As a Tax Lawyer, you will apply your legal expertise across inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trusts, and Stamp Duty Land Tax. You will also provide support on complex estate planning matters, with the opportunity to develop cross-border tax planning knowledge in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. This role would suit a commercially aware Tax Lawyer who is confident managing their own caseload and contributing to wider business development initiatives.

The Tax Lawyer's role

The Tax Lawyer will play a key role in advising clients and solicitors on structuring legal matters in the most tax-efficient manner, ensuring that personal and business goals are met in full compliance with UK tax legislation.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Advising on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, SDLT and trust taxation
• Supporting estate planning and wealth structuring for HNW clients
• Contributing to cross-border tax planning where applicable
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting networking and business development activities

The Tax Lawyer

To be successful as a Tax Lawyer, you will need to demonstrate:

• Qualification as a solicitor with a focus on tax law (CTA, ATT, or STEP qualifications advantageous)
• Solid experience in advising on personal tax, trusts and estates
• A strong understanding of UK tax legislation and HMRC processes
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• A proactive, commercially minded, and team-focused approach

Experience advising high-net-worth individuals or working in a private client or legal tax environment is highly desirable.
