An established and friendly accounting firm in Nottinghamshire is looking to appoint a Tax Assistant to join their growing team. This role has become available due to a recent retirement, offering an excellent opportunity to take on an existing client portfolio from day one.

The Role

You will play a key role in supporting the tax function, with responsibilities including:

• Preparing and submitting personal tax returns
• Managing your own portfolio of clients
• Supporting with corporation tax work (where experience allows)
• Liaising directly with clients and handling queries
• Assisting the wider team during busy periods

This position can be tailored depending on experience, making it ideal for both established Tax Assistants and more junior candidates looking to develop their career in tax.

The Candidate

• Experience preparing self-assessment tax returns
• Exposure to corporation tax would be advantageous but not essential
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confident communicating with clients
• A proactive, team-oriented approach
