Systems Lead - Export New Business

Location: Bristol (Hybrid - 2-3 days on-site per week)
Salary: Up to £57,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Clearance Required: Sole or dual UK nationality with British citizenship

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join a growing Systems engineering team, leading the systems activity that supports export new business opportunities.
As the Systems Lead, you'll play a key role in delivering cutting-edge maritime air defence solutions to a global customer base. You'll be responsible for coordinating bid support, maintaining documentation, and working across multiple programmes and stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Act as the primary systems point of contact for Export New Business
• Lead the generation of system cost bases for export bids
• Provide technical support to bid teams and respond to queries
• Maintain and manage the Generic Documentation Suite (GDS)
• Monitor systems resource needs and forecast workloads
• Ensure coherency with domestic programmes and ongoing projects
• Participate in technical meetings with internal and external stakeholders
• Opportunity to broaden into delivery-phase system leadership roles

What We're Looking For
• Proven systems engineering experience across the engineering lifecycle
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
• Ability to manage changing priorities across concurrent programmes
• Proactive, adaptable, and delivery-focused mindset
• Experience with bid lifecycles and tools such as DOORS or RTC (desirable)
