Systems Administrator

Systems Engineer ;7+ years enterprise server and infrastructure administration/design including operating and designing large, complex on prem environments.

Demonstrated experience leading infrastructure upgrade and overhaul programmes.

Strong understanding of enterprise cyber security risks and mitigations.

Experience working in regulated or high security environments.

We are seeking a highly experienced and exceptionally qualified Server Administrator to manage, modernise, and secure a complex hybrid infrastructure environment spanning on premises datacentres and Microsoft 365 / Azure.

Act as a consultant for direction and guidance as well as work within projects as a technician

Responsibilities:

• Firmware patching work planning and implementation (iLo, iDrac, switches, firewalls, routers, SAN, other hardware)
• Point of contact for IT team for advanced escalations
• Overhauling legacy server infrastructure, environment and configurations with cyber security as the priority
• Performance tuning at hypervisor, host, and guest OS level
• Planning for migration of existing servers to the cloud
• On Premises Infrastructure management
• Forest/domain design and trust models
• Group Policy hardening
• Active Directory overhaul
• AD security posture (LAPS, RBAC)
• Troubleshoot complex cluster and VM performance issues.
• Review of server resources and recommendations on improvements
• Driving security first architecture and operations
• Ensuring resilience, performance, and cyber security compliance
• Design and administer Azure IaaS, PaaS and hybrid workloads, including:
  • Azure Virtual Machines
  • Azure Networking
  • Azure Backup, Site Recovery, and monitoring
• Work closely with SOC and security teams during:
  • Incident response
  • Forensic investigations
  • Post incident remediation
