Offer Description

Enterprise Ireland and the European Union are going to co fund 50 Marie Sklodowska Curie Postdoctoral fellowships through two international open calls.

Fellowships will be based on 36 month employment contracts and include a mandatory 6 12 months secondment to partner enterprise. Sustain FIT Fellows will benefit from having both an Academic Supervisor and a Secondment Mentor throughout the three years.

Sustain FIT is open to applicants globally who want to develop their research career through industry focused sustainability research, thereby enhancing their long term employment opportunities.

Its research and innovation focus is on the European Green Deal eight policy pillars: clean energy, sustainable industry, building and renovating, sustainable mobility, biodiversity, sustainable food systems, eliminating pollution and climate neutrality. In line with the Declaration on a Green and Digital Transformation of the EU, digitalisation projects that benefit Green Deal objectives are also supported.

Eligibility Criteria

• All Sustain FIT applicants must fulfill the following criteria at the date of the call deadline:
• Be postdoctoral researchers (i.e. in possession of a doctoral degree)
• Comply with the MSCA transnational mobility rule
• Eligible applicants are those of any nationality or residency who have not been resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) in Ireland for more than twelve months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline (unless this time was part of a compulsory national service or a procedure for obtaining refugee status under the Geneva Convention).
• Applicants must be able to communicate to the requisite standard through the English language (IELTS 7.0 and above).
• Sustain FIT applicants cannot be a permanent member of staff in the host organisations.
