Support Worker - Learning Disabilities (Temporary) Location: South West Pay: £15.34 per hour Contract: 1 month (with potential to extend) Hours: 37 per week, Monday-Saturday (8:00am-6:00pm, flexible shifts)About the Role We're recruiting for a compassionate and adaptable Support Worker - Learning Disabilities to join a busy service supporting individuals across the South West. This is a rewarding, hands-on role where you'll support people with learning disabilities and complex needs to live independently, safely and confidently within their communities. No two days are the same-you'll be working closely with individuals to build their confidence, develop life skills and achieve personal goals.What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred support tailored to individual needs
- Build strong, trusting relationships with customers and partner agencies
- Support individuals to develop independence and engage in their communities
- Create and review support plans with clear, achievable goals
- Complete risk assessments and ensure safe working practices
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to service outcomes
- Work both independently (including lone working) and as part of a team
- Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality and professional standards at all times
- Experience supporting individuals with a range of needs, ideally in a care or support setting
- Ability to assess risk and make sound decisions in varied situations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Confident working both independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to working hours to meet service needs
- Understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity
- A positive, proactive approach with the ability to adapt to change
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field
- Knowledge of housing-related support or community services
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals in group or one-to-one settings
- British Sign Language (BSL) knowledge
- Enhanced DBS check required
- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
