Supply Chain Coordinator
Harlesden, London
Monday - Friday , 8am - 4.30pm (1 day Working from home)
Up to £35,000 (DOE)
Alexander Steele is delighted to be supporting a food manufacturing business in the search for a Supply Chain Coordinator.
This is an excellent opportunity for a supply chain professional to join a growing food manufacturing business and play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, inventory, and products throughout the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the purchasing of raw materials, packaging, and external services.
- Support demand forecasting and inventory planning to ensure material availability.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Obtain quotations and negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs across purchasing, warehousing, and distribution activities.
- Coordinate material planning to optimise stock levels and minimise waste.
- Develop contingency plans to reduce supply chain risks and maintain continuity of supply.
- Assist with sourcing activities for new product development projects.
- Track and report supply chain KPIs, recommending improvements where required.
- Work closely with Production, Operations, Quality, and other internal departments to ensure business objectives are achieved.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain function.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.
- Maintain awareness of industry developments and supply chain best practices.
- Previous experience within a Supply Chain, Purchasing, Materials Planning, or Procurement role.
- Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, or a manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
