As a Supermarket Assistant, you will help create a positive experience for customers at every visit, providing the partner led service and passion for food that sets us apart.

About the Role

You will work within a supportive team, delivering a high standard of customer service and performing a range of shop keeping tasks to keep the operation running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock replenishment - ensuring shelves remain full and products are in the right place at the right time.
• Fulfilling online customer orders for driver delivery.
• Reducing wastage by managing product due diligence and markdowns for items approaching sell by dates.
• Supporting the shop team, including checkout assistance, handling Click & Collect orders, and fulfilling on demand customer orders.
• Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment through general shop keeping tasks.

Essential Skills / Experience

• Effective communication skills to work well with colleagues and customers.

Desirable Skills / Experience

• Experience in a customer facing role.
• Up to date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
• Flexibility to support the entire branch as needed.

Employment Details

Pay: £13.00 (increase to £13.25 after 90 days)
Contract Type: Temporary
Hours of Work: Part time (8 hours) including evenings up to 22:00
Location: Newport (Waitrose & Partners), Audley Road, Newport, Shropshire, TF10 7DL

Other Information

In addition to base pay, night premium of £3.75 per hour applies to any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00. This also applies to partners enrolled on Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements. Some roles may require pre employment vetting, including DBS checks and financial probity checks as applicable.
