Job Description

Camp St Mary's London is an ambitious new venture at St Mary's University hosting an English-language summer camp for approximately 350 international students per week in July and 125 in August.

We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Activities Co-ordinator to play a key role in the success of our social and cultural programme. This role, which can be residential or non-residential, is designed for someone who can bridge the gap between leadership and delivery.

Your primary responsibility will be to support and assist the Activities Manager in the strategic organisation and arrangement of all on-site activities and off-site excursions.

In addition to the social programme and airport transfers, you will carry out essential pastoral and administrative duties.

You should have a positive, "can-do" approach to working with juniors and a genuine interest in foreign cultures and previous experience in a summer camp or similar residential environment are highly desirable.

St Mary's University staff have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children with whom they come into contact and are required to adhere to and ensure compliance with Safeguarding Policy at all times.

The appointment will be subject to satisfactory references as well as medical clearance, an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), evidence of eligibility to work in the UK and evidence of qualifications. All of the above checks must have been completed before the start of the employment.

Please make sure you are available no more than 5 days prior to the dates in this advert for a period of training and preparation. The exact number of days will be communicated in advance.

We provide a high-quality professional environment, inspired by our distinctive ethos and Catholic mission and values. Our values of excellence, generosity of spirit, inclusiveness and respect inspire us to create an academic community in which everybody is welcomed and which puts the student at the centre of all our endeavours.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.

This vacancy will remain open until it is filled. We will be reviewing the applications and conducting the interviews on a regular basis and we encourage all interested candidates to submit their applications as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
