We are looking to recruit a dynamic surgeon with a sub specialist interest in knee surgery. The role is split between elective knee arthroplasty and soft tissue surgery, and trauma responsibilities in managing periprosthetic fractures around the knee and ligamentous injuries.

The outpatient service is a multidisciplinary clinic involving physiotherapy, podiatry, radiology, sports and exercise medicine consultants and registrars. The service has grown over the past 24 months, leading to increased demand.

Main duties of the job

Within a 10 PA job plan, the post will be based primarily at Homerton University Hospital and the post holder will have the following core responsibilities:

Job responsibilities

The standard job plan is annualised with a total of 10 PAs (DCC & SPA) including a 1:10 trauma surgeons of the week on call commitment. The plan follows a rolling 1 4 pattern.

The post will be based in the Trauma and Orthopaedics department. The primary purpose of the role is to support elective and trauma clinical sub specialty activity with flexibility depending on precise requirements.
