Sixth Form Study Mentor (Part-Time) - Immediate Start

Are you passionate about supporting young people as they work towards their academic goals? We are working with a high-performing secondary school in St. Albans with a thriving mixed Sixth Form to recruit a dedicated Sixth Form Study Mentor.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a direct impact on student progress, help shape good study habits, and support learners preparing for their next steps into higher education or employment.

Role Overview

In this role, you will:

• Supervise and support students during independent study periods.
• Work closely with teaching staff and the Sixth Form leadership team to monitor progress, behaviour, and engagement.
• Provide guidance for university applications, including UCAS support (with up to 4 additional hours per week available to work from home for this element).
• Encourage positive attitudes to learning and help students develop strong organisational and study skills.

Key Details

• Hours: 13 hours per week
• Working pattern: Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 8:30am-3:30pm
• Contract: Term-time only + 5 INSET days, permanent

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with young people or in an educational setting (desirable).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organised, proactive, and able to build positive rapport with Sixth Form students.
• Experience or confidence supporting UCAS applications is an advantage.
