Student Engagement Mentor

We're working with a specialist alternative provision in South Shields that is seeking Student Engagement Mentors to support pupils with SEMH needs.

This setting operates across two sites and provides a nurturing environment where young people can rebuild confidence, develop resilience and re engage with education.

We're looking for proactive and positive individuals who can motivate and inspire young people to succeed.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting pupils who may be disengaged from education
• Building positive relationships and acting as a role model
• Delivering 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions
• Supporting behaviour management strategies
• Encouraging participation in learning and enrichment activities
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff

What we're looking for

• A passion for supporting young people
• Experience working in education, youth work or care settings
• Strong communication and motivational skills
• Resilience and emotional intelligence
• A positive and proactive attitude
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
