Structural Technician

About the Role

An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Structural Technician to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician with strong Revit and AutoCAD experience to work on a diverse range of building and infrastructure projects, supporting engineers in the delivery of high-quality structural designs from concept through to construction.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the production of structural models and technical drawings, with a particular focus on reinforced concrete and steel frame structures. Working closely with engineers and other design professionals, you will contribute to the successful delivery of projects across a variety of sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D structural models using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings for reinforced concrete and steel-framed structures.
• Assist in the production of reinforcement detailing and reinforcement bending schedules.
• Develop structural models and drawing packages in accordance with project and industry standards.
• Coordinate design information with engineers, architects, contractors, and other design disciplines.
• Support the delivery of projects through all design and construction stages.
• Ensure documentation is produced accurately and issued within project timescales.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of BIM and drawing office procedures.

Requirements

• Experience working as a Structural Technician within a consulting engineering environment.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with the ability to produce detailed structural models and drawings.
• Experience detailing reinforced concrete structures, including reinforcement drawings and schedules.
• Experience detailing steel-framed structures and associated connection details.
• Good understanding of structural engineering principles, construction methods, and buildability.
• Knowledge and use of BIM packages such as Navisworks and ReCAP
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a project team.
