Structural Engineer (Grad+2)

£34k-£36k plus benefits

We are working with an established engineering consultancy in Colchester who are currently seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer with a minimum of 2years' UK consultancy experience to join its growing team.

Responsibilities
  • This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of structural designs across a range of projects, contributing innovative and practical solutions while working collaboratively with architects, contractors and fellow engineers.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for producing structural calculations and drawings, preparing building control submissions, and supporting project delivery from concept through to completion.
  • The position involves undertaking structural analysis using both hand calculations and industry-standard design software, assisting with specifications and technical documentation, and attending site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with approved designs.
  • There will also be involvement in inspecting existing structures, advising on remedial works where required, and liaising closely with clients and project stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
Qualifications
  • Applicants should hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and demonstrate a solid understanding of structural principles and material behaviour, including steel, timber and masonry.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit would be advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage workload effectively, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach are essential.
