Streetworks InspectorLocation: South East LondonRate: £24.91 per hour UmbrellaContract: 6 months ongoingWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pmAbout the RoleWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Streetworks Inspector to join a local authority in South East London on a 6-month ongoing contract.Reporting to the Principal Streetworks Coordinator, you will provide guidance and support in relation to street works, ensuring activities are managed in accordance with NRSWA and TMA legislation.Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor street works in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on street works licences.
  • Provide EToN support and data plotting.
  • Draft Temporary Traffic Orders relating to utility works.
  • Monitor street works to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and statutory obligations.
  • Manage Section 81 NRSWA defective apparatus cases.
  • Monitor and follow up on defect inspections.
  • Apply and monitor relevant charges and Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs).
  • Investigate and support the resolution of street works disputes.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams, utilities and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained and street works information is updated appropriately.
About You:
  • Experience working within streetworks, highways or a related local authority environment.
  • Strong knowledge of NRSWA and TMA legislation.
  • Experience coordinating and monitoring utility street works.
  • Knowledge of EToN systems and data plotting.
  • Experience dealing with street works licences, defects, charges and FPNs.
  • Understanding of Section 81 NRSWA and defective apparatus.
  • Experience drafting or supporting Temporary Traffic Orders.
  • Strong communication, organisational and dispute-resolution skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple street works activities and deadlines effectively.
