Job Description
Overview 
Provide independent and balanced advice and counsel to senior stakeholders through problem identification, solving and decision making practices. Support Group Executives with strategic advice, develop and implement advisory incentives, collaborate with stakeholders, develop financial models, manage transactions, and maintain client relationships.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic advice to Group Executives and support decision making on business challenges and opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategic advisory incentives to grow and optimise bank operations through market research and analysis.
- Collaborate with stakeholder groups to identify appropriate strategic directions that meet client and investor needs.
- Create financial models and conduct financial data analysis to support strategic recommendations and transactions.
- Manage transaction negotiations, structure development, and post transaction integration.
- Maintain client relationships and develop new opportunities.
- Track industry trends, benchmark peers, and conduct market research through conferences and training.
- Lead high impact strategic initiatives in Barclays Payments, including growth strategy, capital allocation, and M&A support.
- Partner with product and technology teams to align initiatives with delivery capabilities.
- Act as owner of elements of the recovery plan and align with regulatory expectations.
Essential skills and experience:
- Excellent strategic capability with experience in developing and delivering business strategy; consulting background advantageous.
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, strong communication skills, and ability to articulate strategic narratives.
- Payments experience in payments business or sector, with understanding of product, technology, or AI driven developments.
- Experience in defining and implementing Target Operating Models (TOMs), operating model design, organisational structure, and aligning processes, technology, and governance.
- Skills in risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job specific technical skills.
