Strategic Account Manager, Grocery Partnerships JP (Amazon Fresh). The role focuses on leading partner-driven growth for Amazon's online grocery business in Japan, with strong ownership and cross-functional collaboration across internal teams and partner merchants to deliver strategic programs, data-driven insights, and scalable business models.
Key responsibilities- Own the partnership relationship for grocery-focused Amazon Fresh initiatives, leading data-driven analyses of customer trends and KPI progress, identifying issues, proposing solutions, and supporting strategy execution with partners.
- Proactively negotiate and implement industry-leading programs, align stakeholders, and construct business models that adapt to changing market conditions.
- Serve as the primary Amazon representative who understands the partner deeply, coordinating with internal teams (Marketing, Operations, Legal, etc.) to share information and ensure alignment, and collaborate with colleagues in other countries on cross-partner network learnings.
- Demonstrate high ownership, trust-building communication, strategic thinking, and meticulous analytical skills to drive growth and profitability goals.
- Lead the development and execution of long- and short-term partner strategies, ensuring revenue and profitability targets are met while maximizing business impact.
- P&L Owner: Responsible for building goals/targets and managing the third-party grocery marketplace business, communicating with internal leadership and partner contacts.
- Account Strategy: Manage the business account, set strategic direction, and drive growth while achieving profitability targets.
- 3+ years of sales or new business development experience (or equivalent such as management consulting, finance, merchandising, or operations).
- Ability to operate strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills with the ability to earn trust at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to identify root causes and scalable solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese; business-level English.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience building relationships with large partners and e-commerce businesses and contributing to business growth.
- Experience in e-commerce or retail.
- Experience with databases and SQL.
- Experience in the grocery/food industry.
