Stores Operative

Our client, is seeking a Stores Operative to join its team on a contract basis. The role is responsible for maintaining efficient stores operations, managing materials and stock control, and ensuring all supplies are accurately recorded, safely stored and readily available.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving, checking and storing incoming materials and supplies
• Maintaining accurate inventory records and monitoring stock levels
• Issuing materials to relevant departments as required
• Conducting regular stock checks and reconciling discrepancies
• Keeping the stores area clean, organised and compliant with safety procedures
• Assisting with the loading and unloading of deliveries
• Communicating with internal departments to meet material requirements
• Using inventory management systems to track and manage stock

Job Requirements

• Experience in a stores, materials management or stock control role
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Proficiency in using inventory management systems
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Physical capability to handle and move stock and supplies safely
• Effective communication skills
• Understanding of health and safety regulations relating to stores management
