STEM Graduate Cover Supervisors

Vision for Education is seeking enthusiastic STEM Graduates to work as Cover Supervisors across a variety of secondary schools in Birmingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates with a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or a related subject who are considering a career in teaching or education.
As a STEM Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will supervise secondary school classes in the absence of their usual teacher, deliver pre-set lessons and support students with their learning. You will have the opportunity to use your subject knowledge to inspire students and encourage their interest in STEM subjects.
The role is particularly well suited to graduates considering a future career in teaching, including those who may be interested in gaining classroom experience before completing teacher training.
The SchoolsVision for Education works with a wide range of secondary schools across Birmingham, including academies, maintained schools and multi-academy trusts.

RequirementsThe successful STEM Graduate Cover Supervisor will have:
- A degree in a STEM-related subject, such as Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Technology, Computing or a related discipline.
- A genuine interest in working with young people and supporting their education.
- Confidence communicating with and managing secondary-aged students.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to follow pre-set lesson plans and school procedures.
- A flexible, reliable and professional approach.
- A willingness to support students across a range of abilities.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
No previous teaching experience is required, although experience working with young people, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or within an educational environment would be advantageous.
