About the Role
As a Standardization and Regulatory Engineer at SIAE MICROELETTRONICA, you will be responsible for monitoring the evolution of technical standards in the telecommunications sector, with a specific focus on microwave radio links. Your role will be twofold: on the one hand, representing the company at technical conferences (such as ETSI) to promote our innovations and actively contribute to the definition of new standards; on the other hand, transferring the knowledge acquired to the R&D team to ensure that our products remain cutting-edge and compliant with current regulations.
This position offers a unique growth path to develop specialized skills in telecommunications, microwave technologies, and cybersecurity, within a highly international environment. You will be mentored by the Integration, Validation & Training Manager to develop the competencies that, by the end of the training period, will enable you to work independently and become a key point of reference for R&D, the company's core business.
Responsibilities
- Support the monitoring of standardization committee activities (ETSI and other European bodies) related to microwave radio links.
- Assist in analyzing technical documentation, preparing draft contributions, and joining international working group meetings as needed.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to interface between standardization bodies and the internal R&D team, helping translate standard requirements into product specifications.
- Help track updates to European Directives (e.g., Radio Equipment Directive - RED) and other regulations relevant to company products.
- Provide support to the Validation team during test campaigns and product certification activities in accredited laboratories.
- Assist in drafting and updating EU Declarations of Conformity (DoC) for the product portfolio under the supervision of the responsible engineer.
Key Requirements
- Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related STEM disciplines.
- Excellent command of the English language (C1 level or higher), both written and spoken, essential for working in an international environment.
- Strong interest in the telecommunications and wireless technologies sector.
- Curiosity, proactivity, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Willingness to travel internationally to attend technical committee meetings.
