Staff Nurse Childhood Immunisation (Schools)

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is 37 hours per week on an annualised contract from mid-August to mid-April (8 months).
Please note that the salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.
We are seeking a Nurse Coordinator to join the School Immunisation Team. The Nurse Coordinator will lead and manage a team of registered nurses and healthcare support workers to deliver national public health immunisation programmes for school-aged children and young people across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and associated Health and Social Care Partnership areas. This role is vital in advancing the Public Health Agenda, aiming to enhance the health and wellbeing of children and young people, reduce health inequalities, and meet national and local health objectives through preventative care.
This position is part of one of four immunisation service areas, structured across four teams. The post holder will cover across NHS GG&C HSCP teams, including:
- Renfrew and Inverclyde Team
- East Renfrewshire and South Glasgow Team - This Post
- North East Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire Team
Please note that this role requires GGC Board-wide and cross-boundary working.
Essential Criteria:
- First Level Nursing Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Degree-level education or equivalent
- Knowledge of national policy drivers for immunisations
- Evidence of further professional development in immunisation
- PVG Scheme Membership / Disclosure Scotland Check
This is a permanent position on an annualised hours contract from mid-August to mid-April (8 months), working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm or 4:00 pm. Salary is annualised over 12 months and paid at 24.8 hours per week.
