We are hiring a Staff Nurse -PACUto aHospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Location: Dublin (On-site)
Job Type: Contract Full-time
Key Responsibilities
Work effectively within the multidisciplinary team, supporting quality patient care through strong communication, leadership, and clinical expertise.
Manage time and resources efficiently while delivering safe, evidence-based care in line with NMBI guidelines and current anaesthetic nursing practice.
Participate in ongoing professional development and support the Clinical Coordinator and department operations as required.
Ensure safe use of equipment, adequate supplies, adherence to internal controls, and participation in all regulatory/mandatory surveys.
Assess patients individually, develop and implement care plans, provide appropriate delegation, and maintain accurate, timely documentation.
Promote a safe clinical environment by following all hospital policies, standard precautions, and correct infection-control procedures.
Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, physicians, patients, and families, and contribute to problem-solving and quality improvement.
Provide cross-cover within the department (including PACU), assist co-workers as needed, and support collaborative decision-making.
Maintain a professional portfolio, participate in education and training activities, act as preceptor/supervisor, and engage in performance reviews.
Manage time well, remain flexible to meet service needs, and support safe patient care across departments when required.
NMBI Registered General Nurse
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Minimum of one year post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting
Proven clinical competence and strong communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Demonstrates motivation and commitment to the role
Communicates clearly and professionally, presenting information concisely
Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills
Flexible approach to rotations, rostering, night duty, and theatre on-call
Recent and relevant experience in the specialised area within an acute setting
Awareness of current developments and best practices in the specialty
Understanding of national strategies relevant to nursing care
Maintains up-to-date BLS and ACLS certifications
