Staff Nurse - Fracture Clinic

RoleOur Fracture clinic are excited to announce a vacancy for a Registered Nurse to join our team based in Inverclyde Royal Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Staff Nurse with effective communication skills to join our friendly team. As part of the Trauma and Orthopaedics Specialty, our Fracture Clinic provides care to a varied range of patients including trauma, major trauma, paediatric trauma, elective pre-listing and routine pre and post op elective orthopaedic patients. We support a multi-disciplinary approach which includes nursing staff, consultants, and extended scope practitioners. Plastering skills would be desirable, however you will have the opportunity to develop these skills. You will have the opportunity to work with innovative team members while being supported, encouraged and appreciated within your role. There will be opportunities for enhancing your skills through additional training and development which we offer and encourage.
This is supported by our Nurse Educator who will support you while you settle into your new environment. It is essential you are a Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration. You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern- Location based in Inverclyde Royal Hospital
- Permanent Contract
- Part-time position (13 hours per week)
- Shift pattern for the post are Monday - Friday
- Please note that salary is Pro Rata for part-time posts.
- Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates evidenced based programmes of care with reference to patients, without direct supervision.
- Co-ordinates the provision of seamless care for patients from admission to discharge by utilising efficient verbal and written communication practices with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team / Primary Care Services and Carers.
- Acts as Team Leader on a regular basis taking responsibility for a defined group of patients within clinical specialty.
- Provides Senior cover and manages the ward/department area in the absence of the Ward Manager or deputy.
- Works alone and on own initiative on designated shifts within the fracture clinic environment, participating in the application, adjustment and removal of casts within the fracture clinic area.
- In conjunction with the senior nurse ensures that nursing resource is utilised efficiently by managing on duty rosters, short notice sickness absence and manpower resources to comply with agreed policy and procedure.
- Ensures effective management of ward/department resources including stores, supplies and medicines.

- NMC Registration
- BOC Casting Certificate or willingness to complete
- Good communication practices
