Position Overview

As Staff Instructional Designer, you play a critical role in the design and development of high-quality training programs that support sales and clinical field effectiveness. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional and cross-border teams, advising on best practices and ensuring instructional consistency across learning initiatives. With your expertise, you help create engaging, effective training solutions that drive measurable outcomes that lead to improved sales performance.

Responsibilities
Guide Training Design & Development
Lead the instructional design process for programs supporting sales and clinical training, ensuring content meets field needs and business goals
Define training formats, agendas, and delivery modalities aligned with adult learning principles
Design interactive and engaging learning materials including e-learning, simulations, job aids, and virtual instructor-led sessions
Support a Flexible Training Model
Serve as a shared design resource across sales and clinical domains, supporting diverse product, process, and capability training
Adapt instructional strategies to field realities and regional learning preferences
Integrate innovative instructional techniques and technology to enhance engagement and retention
Act as Subject Matter Expert
Advise trainers and program owners on design structure, delivery approaches, and learning methodologies
Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure technical accuracy and clinical relevance of training materials
Promote consistency and learning excellence across all training content and experiences
Ensure Quality & Consistency
Apply instructional design standards and ensure alignment to competency models, role expectations, and field realities
Evaluate training programs through feedback, performance metrics, and data analysis
Refine and iterate on training based on effectiveness data, learner feedback, and evolving needs

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in education, human resources, instructional design or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Professional instructional design certification a plus
Demonstrated experience in instructional design, learning and development, or related fields-ideally within medical device or healthcare industries
Experience developing educational and technical materials using tools such as Articulate, Rise, Captivate, Adobe Suite, and LMS platforms

Skills and Competencies
Expertise in adult learning principles, instructional models (e.g., ADDIE, Bloom's), and outcomes-based design
Skilled in storyboarding, scripting, and developing engaging learning materials using tools like Articulate, Rise, and Adobe Creative Suite
Strong ability to manage multiple projects, work cross-functionally, and partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders
Experience conducting needs assessments, measuring learning impact, and applying insights to improve program effectiveness
Excellent written and verbal communication; adept at simplifying complex content and influencing stakeholders
Strong organizational and project management skills to coordinate training schedules and logistics with accuracy and efficiency
Proficiency with instructional design tools and platforms (e.g., Articulate, Rise, Captivate, Adobe Suite, LMS systems)
Proficient in LMS platforms, SCORM/xAPI standards, and emerging modalities such as microlearning and gamification.
Excellent communication skills to liaise with local trainers and manage training-related correspondence clearly and effectively
Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate and address logistical and administrative needs before they become blockers
Flexible and adaptable in fast-changing environments, able to adjust support based on evolving training needs

Physical Requirements

NOTE: This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements and requires on-site work from a Insulet's London office at least three (3) days per week.

Travel Requirements: Limited business travel as required.
