OVERVIEW CAA Sports UK is currently seeking a full-time Sports Business Affairs Executive to support Football Agents and Executives across its global football business. The ideal candidate is a qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) with 7-10+ years' PQE at a top law firm and/or at an in-house legal department in a football organisation, with expertise in advising on a wide range of football-related and commercial transactions, disputes and compliance matters across international jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have experience and expertise in areas including: international and domestic football rules and regulations, general compliance issues, labour and employment matters and other general corporate matters, and litigation/disputes before a range of domestic and international courts/tribunals. The ideal candidate must be thorough, thoughtful, detail-oriented, flexible, self-driven and collaborative. Theyshould be able to prioritize and juggle multiple responsibilities and have a firm understanding of the international football and wider sports industry. PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES: Provide advice on international and domestic rules and regulations and other on-field matters as well as legal and regulatory compliance across key football jurisdictions. Advise on contentious/litigious matters in a range of forums related to football. Prepare, review, negotiate, and advise on football transactional documents (agency agreements and player contracts), and a wide range of other football related and commercial agreements, such as representation agreements, subagent agreements, image rights agreements, consulting agreements, services agreements, vendor agreements, intellectual property license agreements, NDAs and releases. Support and increase organisational efficiency and achievement of business objectives in a manner that minimises legal risk. Assist in the further implementation of effective contract administration and document management processes. Advise Agents and Executives on business strategy for transactions of varying complexity and provide real-time and thoughtful advice to Agents and Executives on a variety of business and legal issues. Assist in the management of the broader football business affairs team, including supervision of other members of the team. Monitor legal developments and update template documents to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and best practice in the football business. Anticipate and identify potential legal problems for the Chief Legal Officer and senior members of the Sports Business Affairs team as well as football agent leadership and assist such individuals in developing strategies to avoid litigation and reduce potential areas of risk. Foster positive long-term relationships with the business colleagues and clients. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS In depth experience of the UK and international football industry, with a track record of advising on transactions and contentious matters at the highest level. Strong academic background: BA Hons in Law 2:1 or above and/or Graduate Diploma in Law Merit and above; LPC Merit and above. Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) with 7+ years' PQE. Experience at top law firm and/or in-house legal department in commercial law and related transactions. Excellent communication (written and verbal), drafting and negotiation skills. Ability to adapt to changing business requirements. Ability to provide high-quality work product in a timely manner to meet demands of the organisation and to effectively and efficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic and enjoy a team-oriented approach to work. Strong work ethic.
