Job Description
Specialty Doctor in the Integrated Geriatric and Stroke Medicine Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

We are seeking to appoint two Full-time Specialty Doctors in the Integrated Geriatric and Stroke Medicine directorate at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidates may work across both campuses of the Trust.

The positions are available from August 2025 for a two-year term. All posts will include some out-of-hours work, likely involving participation in the general internal medicine hospital out-of-hours rota, which will be discussed upon offer.

The directorate encourages candidates to develop from the Specialty doctor role towards Specialist or Consultant-level practice as appropriate.

Candidates unable to work full-time for personal reasons will still be considered; job modifications can be discussed on an individual basis with the Trust and in consultation with consultant colleagues.

Additional vacancies may arise, and shortlisted applicants will be considered for future opportunities.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will join one of the ward teams at either the Northern General or Royal Hallamshire hospitals. There may be movement between wards and teams depending on the needs of the directorate. The directorate supports progression from the Specialty doctor role to higher levels of practice as appropriate.

Further duties are outlined in the Job Description, which should be referred to for detailed information.
