The post is that of a Substantive Specialty Dentist in Oral Medicine (
1.0 WTE) based at Liverpool University Dental Hospital Hosted by Liverpool University Dental Hospital, Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation.

The clinical duties of the Specialty Dentist will be: To participate in the Oral Medicine service, including daytime emergency cover and inpatient referrals as required, in conjunction with the senior clinicians.

To undertake oral mucosal biopsies under local anaesthesia.

Together with the consultants, to have continuing responsibility for the care of patientsincluding monitoring of clinical test results and responding to urgent patient queries.

To participate in the training and continuing education of junior hospital staff.

To participate in the teaching of undergraduate dental students if required.

To participate in quality improvement projects and patient safety initiatives.
