Specialist Teaching Assistant (TA) - SEN / PMLD Preston

Location: Preston, Lancashire

Salary: £90 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: September 2026 (Immediate or long-term options also available)

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Are you caring, patient, and passionate about supporting young people with complex needs? Tradewind Recruitment is working with a specialist SEN school in Preston seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex SEND.

• Provide personal care, mobility, and sensory support for pupils with physical and learning needs.
• Work 1:1 or in small groups to promote independence, communication, and wellbeing.
• Support therapy programmes and use communication aids such as Makaton or PECS.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, healthcare staff, and therapists.

• Experience in care, support work, or SEN education (PMLD or complex needs preferred).
• Compassionate, reliable, and resilient with a calm, nurturing approach.
• Comfortable assisting with personal care and medical routines (training provided).
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
