ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committedSpecialist SEND Trainer (maternity cover)to join our team on a maternity cover basis, supporting ourSupported Interns based at Asda Workington. Working closely alongside aRight2Work Job Coach, you will play a key role in helping learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) develop the skills, confidence and independence needed to achieve sustainable employment outcomes.

The role involves delivering employability and independent living skills training, acting as a key worker for identified learners, monitoring progress, liaising with parents and employers, and supporting interns to succeed in a real workplace environment. You will work collaboratively with the Right2Work Job Coach and Asda colleagues to ensure interns receive the guidance and support they need to thrive and progress towards their individual goals.

The successful candidate must hold 5 GCSE's (including Maths and English) and have experience of working with learners with SEND. Holding a PTLLS qualification is considered advantageous.

This position is for a fixed term period of 12 months to cover maternity

Qualifications

5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent essential

Hold or be willing to work towards a PTLLS qualification essential

Experience of working with learners with SEND essential

Skills Experience

Recent and relevant industry experience in sector essential

Knowledge of EHCP, SEND and Provision / Support routes essential

Recent relevant teaching experience with SEND / High Needs Learners essential
