Job Description

In this role, you will be at the forefront of delivering new models of care through transformation that meet the needs of our community. You will contribute to shaping these models and positively impact the experiences of our patients in the diverse community of Brent.

You will provide day-to-day specialist clinical care in a supported environment and within a dynamic team, serving a diverse group of patients. Your responsibilities will include embedding biomechanics within the service across our caseloads and supporting operational management duties alongside the Clinical Team Lead.

Providing professional leadership daily, you will ensure patient needs remain central to care delivery while maintaining high standards of clinical care within your designated area.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will act as a clinical specialist for podiatric biomechanics within their local team. You will lead and educate colleagues and junior staff on biomechanical and musculoskeletal (MSK) interventions, theories, and podiatry treatment plans, being the main contact for this area within your team.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • BSc Degree in Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior to 1991)
  • Evidence of continual professional and personal development
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Certificate in local anaesthesia
  • Postgraduate training in a specialist area of podiatry
Experience
  • Significant postgraduate clinical experience
  • Experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
  • Experience of clinical supervision/mentoring
  • Experience of service development
  • Experience working in an NHS environment
  • Experience working with a wide range of patient and disease/pathology types, including high-risk foot cases
  • Experience managing a team
  • Experience with rota and diary management
  • Experience in staff recruitment
Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of recent developments in the profession
  • Comprehensive knowledge of podiatric theory and practice
  • Knowledge of foot orthotic design and manufacture
  • Understanding of the CoP code of conduct
