An exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialist physiotherapist/ respiratory nurse to join the Pulmonary Rehabilitation team at Bromley Healthcare. The service is currently working towards national accreditation through the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service Accreditation Scheme (PRSAS) and is a great opportunity for an individual to further their managerial and leadership skills. This role is a mixture of clinical and non-clinical responsibilities. Clinical responsibilities include the triage, assessment, and treatment of service users for Pulmonary Rehabilitation. Non-clinical duties include the supervision of junior members of staff and students, taking a lead role in the accreditation through report writing and data manipulation, and facilitating ongoing training to the team.

Main duties of the job
- To undertake full respiratory assessments and independently plan individual, specialised, evidence-based, treatment programmes for patients appropriately using clinical reasoning and a variety of highly specialised skills such as use of respiratory monitoring, exercise prescription and exercise progression
- Devising rehabilitation programmes using the most up to date available evidence and guidance to enable clients to develop skills that will improve their performance and independence as well as health and wellbeing
- To formulate and evaluate individualised management and / or treatment plans, using clinical reasoning and utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options in order to formulate a specialised programme of care e.g. supported Self-management.
- To continue to work towards National Accreditation of the service alongside the service lead
- To be responsible for own and the teams allocated work plan, and to independently plan and organise this with regard to clinical priorities and effective use of time, depending on changing priorities on a daily basis.
- To lead the use of evidence based practice in service delivery and ensure there is an infrastructure to support this
- Be proactive in maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of relevant local and national policy and evidence which drives and informs treatment to these cohort of patients. The post holder will be innovative in the implementation of evidence base practices and apply these within the service.

Person specification Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy/ Nursing
- Current registration with HCPC
- Post-Graduate Msc in relevant field.
- Member of CSP
- Member of specialist interest group
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Significant evidence of post graduate training and work experience relevant to specialist adult community rehabilitation
- Practice Educator training
- Leadership training
- Well-developed inter-personal communication skills both verbal and written
- Knowledge of Pulmonary Rehabilitation and the clinical health benefits associated.
- Able to motivate and persuade patients with impaired cognitive or physical ability
- Knowledge of Pulmonary Rehabilitation national guidance.
