Specialist Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
Posted 2 days 7 hours ago by NHS National Services Scotland
We are seeking skilled Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists to join the Frailty Team at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. Our team delivers Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments (CGA) to patients presenting with frailty in key front-door areas, including the Medical/Surgical Admissions Units, Emergency Department and GP Assessment.
This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to be part of an innovative service as well as providing rapid multidimensional assessments and identifying appropriate care pathways to support patient flow. You will contribute to the ongoing development of the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy role within the ever-evolving Frailty Team including the newly developed Acute Frailty Unit.
The successful candidates will work within a multidisciplinary team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, and Clinical Frailty Assistants. You must be flexible to cover a seven-day working rota.
Applicants should have significant recent inpatient experience, preferably at Band 6 level, and a strong interest in working with older adults, aligning with local and National Frailty Standards. Experience in staff and student supervision is beneficial and you will be expected to engage in clinical audits, quality improvement and service development. The role offers regular supervision, TURAS appraisal, and opportunities for professional and personal development.
If you are a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with a passion for enhancing the lives of older adults and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you. In return, you will benefit from in-service training, regular appraisals, and PDP meetings, as well as development opportunities and robust support from both peers and management.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service.
As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK websitehere.
For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or 'going rate'. Further information on these criteria can be foundhere.
It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsoredBEFORE submitting your application form.
We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
