Role description: Gingham Nanny Agency is seeking an experienced, nurturing and reliable Specialist Nanny to support a family in the BS15 area of Bristol. This role is caring for two children, aged 10 and 4 years. Their father has an acquired brain injury, and their mother is expecting a third baby. The family require calm, consistent and child-focused support during a period of transition.

The role will include:
  • providing warm, engaging childcare for two children;
  • planning age-appropriate activities;
  • supporting emotional regulation and positive routines;
  • offering calm, consistent support within the family home;
  • working sensitively in a family affected by brain injury;
  • supporting the children through a trauma-informed approach;
  • liaising professionally with Gingham and, where appropriate, the wider team.
The ideal nanny will be:
  • experienced in childcare, nannying, family support or SEN;
  • calm, patient and emotionally mature;
  • confident supporting children who may have experienced significant life events;
  • able to provide structure, reassurance and consistency;
  • professional, discreet and reliable;
  • comfortable working in a sensitive family environment.

Experience of trauma-informed childcare, acquired brain injury, SEN, ADHD, autism, emotional regulation or complex family needs would be highly beneficial.
This is a meaningful role for someone who understands that specialist nanny support is about far more than childcare - it is about providing stability, safety and reassurance for children and the wider family.
