Clear Links Support is recruiting for One-to-One Specialist Mentors to support students with an autism spectrum condition studying in Leeds.
The role:You will be working with higher education students to provide strategies to develop their skills in the management of the impact of the condition or impairment on their academic experience. This includes managing anxiety, developing concentration, time management and prioritising workloads, as well as creating schedules for work-life balance. Students will also learn how to acquire, recall and retain information in written and spoken language, and develop memory, organisation, attention and numeracy skills.
Pay£28 per hour plus £3.38 holiday pay per hour.

Requirements- Applicants must be available to provide in-person support at the University of Leeds.
- Applicants must have:
- A degree
- AND
- Six National Autistic Society (NAS) online training modules:
- Understanding autism
- Autism and communication
- Autism and sensory experience
- Autism, stress and anxiety
- Autism: supporting families
- Autism and Girls
- OR
- Optimum Student Support training course: "Autism and ADHD in Higher Education: Recognising and addressing the barriers through Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Mentoring and Study Skills Strategies."
- If you have a relevant postgraduate qualification such as a PGCert or Masters in Autism, you will still need to complete the NAS Autism and Girls online training module.
- It is desirable that applicants have experience in a similar role within the last five years and understand the impact of disabilities in the further/higher education context.
- By the start of employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. The post is also subject to satisfactory references and other applicable pre employment checks.
