Blackrock Health Hermitage Clinic is a private hospital providing a full range of medical and surgical care. The Theatre team provides a range of surgical services, and this role is essential in maintaining the Meditech Database.

About the Role

The role is responsible for the verification of all cases-including theatre, endoscopy, minors and Cath Lab-and maintaining an up to date Meditech database.

Key Responsibilities Operations
  • Ensure all operational timestamps associated with every procedure are completed at point of care in Meditech Theatre, Endoscopy, Minors and Cath Lab.
  • Verify all procedures in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all documents are electronically signed by the end of the day.
  • Perform daily charge reconciliation to ensure all charges generated the previous day.
  • Ensure all procedures are coded appropriately.
  • Maintain all records related to implantable devices.
  • Maintain SUR/MM dictionaries, flagging any implants for tracking.
  • Provide backup cover for theatre scheduler.
  • Participate in audits as required.
  • Maintain all preference cards on the system, updating continuously with new items used by consultants and replacing deactivated items.
  • Create all new preference cards for new procedures and surgeons.
  • Set up new procedures not yet set up; liaise with Finance for VHI codes and billing codes, and coordinate with Scheduler to ensure correct code use.
Quality Improvement and Risk Management
  • Participate in hospital accreditation processes.
Personal & Professional Responsibilities
  • Attend all mandatory education sessions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a professional portfolio.
Planning and Organisational Skills
  • Prioritise and plan workload to ensure timely completion of all tasks.
  • Demonstrate numeracy, communication and organisational skills.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications
  • Valid work permission for the Republic of Ireland is required.
