Spark Engineer - Databricks, Azure, SQL - this is a long term contract opportunity to join our Swiss based client in the financial services sector.

Your tasks:

• Optimizing and tuning Spark workloads to enhance performance, stability, and efficiency
• Analyzing and troubleshooting the performance of Spark workloads
• Monitoring and fine-tuning Spark and Databricks clusters for cost-effectiveness
• Performing benchmarks and interpreting Spark execution plans
• Collaborating with teams on application development, including cashflow preparation logic

Your experience/knowledge:

• Significant hands-on experience with Apache Spark
• Experience with the Databricks platform, preferably in Azure
• Expert level skill set with Python and PySpark
• Deep understanding of Spark internals and performance optimization
• Practical experience connecting Spark with relational databases using JDBC
• Language skills: English (written and verbal)

Your soft skills:

• Strong analytical skills to quickly diagnose performance bottlenecks
• Excellent communication skills
• Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively
