Overview

Are you a passionate and experienced nurse leader with a commitment to improving outcomes for children, young people, and families? Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership is seeking a dynamic Children and Families Lead Nurse to provide strategic and professional leadership across Aberdeenshire.

This is a pivotal role within the Health & Social Care Partnership, supporting integrated service delivery and ensuring high standards of care across health visiting, school nursing, and family support services including Child Protection and Infant Feeding Specialities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the development of children and families nursing services across Aberdeenshire.
  • Provide expert clinical and professional leadership to nursing teams.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including education, social work, and third sector organisations.
  • Drive quality improvement, service redesign, and workforce development.
  • Ensure services are safe, effective, person-centred, and equitable.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and policy development at local and regional levels.
Essential Criteria
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Master's level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in safeguarding and child protection.
  • Familiarity with Scottish Government frameworks such as GIRFEC and The Promise.
  • Significant post-registration experience in children and families services.
  • Proven leadership and management experience.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and partnership working skills.
  • Knowledge of national policy and frameworks relating to children's health and wellbeing.
  • Ability to lead change and innovation in complex environments.
