South Molton General Manager

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee the mobilisation of the west end's largest mixed use development. The General Manager will collaborate closely with the Management Surveyor, Asset Managers, and Offices Director to champion the Grosvenor's People, Planet, Positive+ ethos and the overall success of the business plan. The role demands a sharp vision for creating a destination focused on customer satisfaction, combined with strong operational and procedural expertise.
Key ResponsibilitiesManagement and Leadership
- Build and drive a strong multi functional team to provide depth and resilience to the property operation, driving operational KPIs and customer satisfaction.
- Operationalise the business district strategies and office property management plan set by the asset managers and offices director, cascading them to all team members.
- Lead with intention across soft and hard services with direct influence and ownership of facilities management, engineering, building performance, security, cleaning, and guest experience teams.
- Ensure all team members receive exemplary support, development, and performance feedback.
- Monitor metrics to provide an objective view of performance, identify shortcomings and address them promptly.
Best Practice
- Work with the facilities management team and wider service partners to adopt core principles of service delivery.
- Implement continuous service improvements through introduction of building performance technologies.
- Champion People, Planet, Positive+ and Community Initiatives, integrating this ethos with onsite teams.
- Understand business linkages across office, retail, leisure, and residential sectors.
- Identify opportunities to continuously improve South Molton as a destination and a successful asset.
Financial
- Set, monitor, and control service charge and non recoverable items.
- Report to the Management Surveyor and Asset Managers on overall financial performance from development set up through operation.
- Manage financials within agreed KPIs.
- Take initiative in forecasting alongside development and asset teams for defect rectification periods and major works, including 10 year life cycle planning.
- Manage onsite resources within agreed financial parameters.
Brand Enhancement
- Build and promote South Molton's brand identity, ensuring it is unique, vibrant, and aspirational.
- Collaborate with the team to exceed customer expectations and deliver sustainable long term satisfaction internally and externally.
- Work with the Grosvenor team to maximise positive exposure in PR and all media channels.
Sustainable Practice
- Oversee and own South Molton's WELL accreditation.
- Ensure operational management of the Engineering and Building Performance team for NABERS Health & Safety compliance.
- Own overall asset risk performance.
- Empower Facilities Managers to proactively report and manage statutory compliance through contractual management of service partners and technical FMI support.
Work Arrangements
- On site role for four days a week with flexible working one day per week.
- Excellent record in mobilising premium assets and in depth understanding of commercial contract mobilisation, defect management, and multiple fit outs.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with in depth knowledge of service charge budgets, financial forecasting, and reporting.
- Ability to manipulate and make sense of large datasets.
- High level of diligence with the ability to step back and see the bigger picture.
- Skilled stakeholder relationship manager who can challenge appropriately.
- Enthusiastic about sustainability with a solid understanding of NABERS and WELL aligned to operational requirements.
- Skills in presenting and representing brand identity as a core part of customer service.
