Sous Chef

Hospitality Sous Chef, Liverpool Streer - £40,000

We're looking for a talented Hospitality Sous Chef to join a busy and growing contract catering operation. Working within a small but ambitious kitchen brigade consisting of a Head Chef, Sous Chef, 2 CDPs and a Commis Chef, you'll support a diverse food offering from working lunches to afternoon teas and an expanding fine dining programme.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Delivering high-quality food across breakfast, lunch, dinner, hospitality and event catering
• Assisting with menu development and bringing fresh ideas to the food offering
• Leading and motivating the kitchen team during service
• Maintaining excellent food quality, presentation and hygiene standards
• Building strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Supporting a variety of events, from large-scale corporate hospitality to fine dining and VIP functions
• Helping drive the continued growth and development of the hospitality operation

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef, or a strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up
• Experience within hospitality, contract catering, hotels or quality pub environments
• A strong all-round culinary background with the ability to adapt to different styles of service
• Excellent leadership and team development skills
• Passion for fresh food, quality and presentation
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive approach to menu development and continuous improvement
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive client relationships
• A desire to develop your career within a growing business
• Availability to start within a short notice period (ideally two weeks)
