The Role

As a Sous Chef, you will:

  • Support the Head Chef in leading daily kitchen operations across all outlets.
  • Oversee preparation, cooking, and service to ensure consistent quality and presentation.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise junior chefs, leading by example at all times.
  • Contribute to menu development, tastings, and seasonal updates.
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships in line with budget.
  • Take charge of the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, maintaining standards and efficiency.

The Twenty Two is a luxury lifestyle hotel located on London's historic Grosvenor Square. Our property, set within a listed Edwardian manor, combines cultural elegance with modern charm. We offer an all-day public restaurant and a private members' club with 31 bedrooms and suites.

About You

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about excellence and culture.

You will have:

  • Previous experience above 4 years as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous in a luxury or high-end kitchen.
  • Strong culinary skills and creativity, with excellent product knowledge.
  • A proven track record in leading teams and managing busy services.
  • High standards of cleanliness, organisation, and allergen management.
  • Excellent communication skills and a calm, solution-focused approach.
  • Flexibility to work split shifts, evenings, and weekends as required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead sections of the kitchen and ensure consistent food quality and presentation.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate junior chefs.
  • Support planning and execution of daily menus and specials.
  • Maintain stock control, food safety, and HACCP compliance.
  • Work with the Head Chef on costings, budgets, and supplier management.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations, even under pressure.
