Job Title: Sous Chef
Location: Uxbridge (near Uxbridge Underground Station)
Salary: £38,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Days: Monday to Sunday (rota basis)
Shift Pattern: Shifts between 6:00am and 6:00pm
Holiday Entitlement: 23 days plus Bank Holidays
Start Date: 1 March 2026
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to support culinary operations within a high-volume corporate catering environment serving a well-known energy company client. This is a hands on leadership role where you will help deliver consistently high standards across complimentary (free issue) staff dining and corporate hospitality in a professional, client focused setting.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will support day-to-day kitchen operations, lead food production, coach and develop the team, and ensure excellent quality, presentation, and food safety at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, production, and service delivery.
- Lead the preparation and service of daily complimentary (free issue) lunch offerings for client employees.
- Supervise, train, and support kitchen staff to maintain a smooth, efficient, and professional kitchen operation.
- Maintain consistent quality, presentation standards, and portion control across all services.
- Support menu planning and execution for staff dining, executive hospitality, and corporate events.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, sanitation and HACCP standards, maintaining accurate records where required.
- Monitor stock levels, support ordering, and contribute to cost control to meet budgetary targets.
- Step into a leadership role and manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence when required.
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef, ideally within corporate catering, contract catering or other high-volume food service environments.
- Experience supporting staff dining or complimentary meal programmes is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a practical understanding of HACCP.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise in a structured environment.
- A calm, professional and client-focused approach with strong communication and leadership skills.
