This role is based within a large international company operating across multiple continents, with a strong focus on digital transformation, operational excellence, and responsible business practices. The global Procurement function supports a wide range of business units by ensuring efficient sourcing of technology, professional services, and other strategic categories.
The Digital & Professional Services Procurement team manages a substantial global spend across areas such as software, cloud services, infrastructure, application development, consulting, HR and finance services, legal services, travel, and selected facilities-related categories. The team partners closely with stakeholders worldwide to drive commercial value, enhance digital capabilities, and strengthen procurement performance across the organisation.
Role Description
We are looking for an experienced IT/Digital Sourcing Manager to cover a parental leave period of up to 12 months. You will be responsible for leading complex sourcing activities, managing negotiations with key technology partners, contributing to category strategies, and running efficient source-to-contract processes that support digital and organisational priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing initiatives for enterprise software, cloud technologies, infrastructure solutions, and digital services, including engagements with major SaaS and application vendors.
- Manage full S2C cycles: market analysis, opportunity assessment, business case preparation, RFx processes, evaluation, negotiations, contracting, and supplier onboarding.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure sourcing strategies meet operational and strategic objectives while optimising cost, value, and performance.
- Improve TCO through license optimisation, consumption-based analysis, benchmarking, commercial governance, and contract life cycle management.
- Contribute to global category strategy development through market insights, analytical inputs, demand patterns, and industry trends.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract, sourcing, and spend information using procurement technologies and reporting tools.
- Integrate quality, sustainability, compliance, and risk considerations in all sourcing decisions.
- Support neighbouring categories (eg, Professional Services) or internal improvement initiatives as needed to enhance overall procurement effectiveness.
Profile
- Degree in Business, Engineering, Technology or a related area.
- 5-10 years of experience in IT/Digital procurement, including software, cloud, applications, or digital services.
- Strong understanding of global IT supplier markets, covering enterprise software providers, cloud platforms, SaaS vendors, and specialised service partners.
- Solid experience with cloud procurement (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and associated commercial models, contracting structures, risk considerations, and compliance standards.
- Proven ability to manage complex commercial negotiations with major technology vendors.
- Familiarity with agile or iterative sourcing methods aimed at faster and more collaborative outcomes.
- Knowledge of privacy and security contracting, including DPAs and security clauses.
- Experience with contract, spend, or demand management tools (eg, Jagger, Sievo, ServiceNow).
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, capable of influencing at various organisational levels.
- Collaborative, pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset suited to dynamic and globally distributed teams.
- Fluent in English and comfortable working in an international environment.
Location & Travel
Primary locations include Oslo (preferred) or Brussels; additional locations may be considered. Only limited travel is required.
