Solution Architect (Infrastructure & Integration)

On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs we are looking for a Solutions Architect for a 12 Month contract based in Derby (3 days per week on-site).

The Role & Responsibilities:

The Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and overseeing the infrastructure and integration architecture across a large-scale programme.

The role spans cloud and on-premise environments, supporting 19 integrations across five enterprise systems, and ensuring data is reliably and securely pushed into the organisation's internal data platforms.

You will work closely across multiple delivery workstreams, providing architectural leadership across a largely greenfield landscape, while also accounting for Legacy system integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the infrastructure and integration architecture for the SIOP programme.
• Design hybrid architectures spanning SaaS, cloud, and on-premise platforms.
• Oversee and assure 19 system integrations across five enterprise systems.
• Collaborate closely with Integration Architects to align integration patterns, standards, and tooling.
• Ensure data flows effectively into the organisation's enterprise data platforms.
• Provide architectural governance across key programme workstreams.
• Support greenfield solution design while ensuring compatibility with Legacy systems.
• Produce and maintain architectural artefacts, including:
  • High-level and low-level designs
  • Integration diagrams
  • Infrastructure models
• Engage with vendors, internal IT teams, and third-party delivery partners.
• Identify and manage architectural risks, dependencies, and technical constraints.

Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Solutions Architect covering infrastructure and integration.
• Strong understanding of hybrid architectures (SaaS, cloud, on-prem).
• Experience designing and delivering complex system integrations at scale.
• Ability to work across greenfield implementations and integrate with Legacy platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience working within large enterprise or transformation programmes.

Desirable:

• Experience with supply chain, planning, ERP, or advanced planning & scheduling systems.
• Experience working alongside Integration Architects in multi-system landscapes.
• Knowledge of aviation, manufacturing, or asset-intensive industries.
• Familiarity with enterprise data platforms and analytics architectures.
