Solutions Architect (German-Speaking)

Location: Germany (Munich area preferred, but flexible)
Salary: €90,000-€120,000 (depending on experience & location) + Presales Bonus

Our client, an international software engineering organisation, is looking to hire aGerman-speaking Solutions Architect with strong English skills to support their enterprise customers in Germany.

This role sits at the forefront of customer engagement. You will play a critical part in presales activities, working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to design scalable, maintainable, and business-aligned software solutions.

You will be responsible for defining the technical approach during the presales phase, presenting structured technical designs, quickly adapting to new business domains, and ensuring that client requirements are accurately translated into robust solution architectures.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate confidently in a customer-facing setting.

• Lead the technical stream of presales engagements, producing structured, high-quality solution designs.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify goals, and translate concepts into actionable architectures.
• Present and defend architectural decisions to both technical experts and non-technical stakeholders.
• Create solution overviews, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation using internal templates and industry best practices.
• Quickly gain context and adapt to various industry domains during presales cycles.
• Support the sales team by estimating effort, identifying risks, and outlining technical approaches.
• Contribute to internal architectural practices (e.g., SEI, ADRs, ISO 25010, QA frameworks).
• Participate in occasional whiteboarding and live design sessions.

• Native German speaker with fluent English.
• 5+ years' experience as a Solutions Architect or Senior Software Engineer with architectural responsibilities.
• Proven ability to design distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, integrations, APIs, and scalable enterprise solutions.
• Strong understanding of architectural patterns, technical roadmapping, and system quality attributes.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working across multiple business domains and adapting quickly to new contexts.
• Demonstrated presales or customer-facing solution consulting experience is highly desirable.

• Experience with SEI architecture practices, ADRs, ISO 25010, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Whiteboarding or live system-design experience in interviews or client workshops.

• Competitive, market-aligned salary range: €90,000-€120,000 gross/year, depending on experience and location.
