Solution Architect (SC Cleared - Preferred)

The Role
We're working with a government-focused consultancy that is looking for several experienced Solution Architects to support the design and assurance of complex public sector technology solutions. This is a delivery-focused architecture role, suited to someone who has come from a strong technical background and has since transitioned into a more hands-off, design-led position.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end solution architectures aligned to public sector standards and constraints
• Produce and maintain high-quality architecture documentation and artefacts
• Guide delivery teams and stakeholders through architectural decisions and trade-offs
• Engage and "face off" to senior technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ensure solutions align with AWS best practice, security principles, and government estates

Essential

• Proven experience working as a Solution Architect in the UK public sector
• Strong background in AWS-based architectures
• Experience designing solutions rather than hands-on engineering in recent roles
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
• Ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders
• Active SC Clearance (or recently lapsed, with eligibility to renew)

Desirable

• Experience working within government consultancies
• Familiarity with wider public sector estates and Legacy environments
• Exposure to central government departments or arms-length bodies

The Details

• Contract: 6 months initially (2+ years of work).
• IR35: Inside IR35
• Rate: Around £600 per day
• Location: UK-based, hybrid depending on client requirements
