Solution Architect - Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Brussels

Excellent freelance opportunity for a Solution Architect - Anti-Money Laundering (AML).

Leading client is looking for an experienced IT Solution Architect who is fluent in Dutch or French to help design and deliver a next-generation Anti-Money Laundering (AML) platform serving multiple financial institutions.

In this strategic role, you will define the solution architecture, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and guide implementation to ensure a scalable, secure, and high-performing platform.

Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite in Brussels

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the overall solution architecture and technical blueprint for the AML platform.
• Deliver incremental solution architecture deliverables aligned with Quarterly Agile Planning (QAP).
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Infrastructure Architects, Security Architects, and the Lead Architect to ensure architectural alignment.
• Contribute to the design and evolution of architecture for both internally developed solutions and third-party products.
• Ensure architectural consistency, efficiency, scalability, and resilience across the platform.
• Engage with key stakeholders, including Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, and management teams, to support successful delivery.

Required Experience

• Minimum 6 years of experience as an IT Solution Architect.
• Proven experience designing solution architectures in data-centric environments.
• Hands-on experience building modern data platforms.
• Experience designing and architecting data products.
• Strong understanding of interoperability between operational and analytical environments.
• Experience with data virtualization.
• Solid IT background with strong architectural expertise.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in highly regulated environments where security, resilience, and compliance are core design principles.
• Experience within large enterprises and/or the financial services sector.

Languages

• English: Fluent (primary working language).
• French or Dutch: Good command of at least one national language.
