Software Tester
Posted 3 hours 23 minutes ago by Cathcart Associates Group Ltd
An international professional services organisation are looking for a Software Tester to join their hybrid team in Glasgow. They're in the process of transforming their digital innovation arm, so this is a chance to get involved at an exciting stage of their journey, with a team that's shaping the way technology drives transformation across the business.
The Role
You'll be joining a small but growing team which focuses on experimentation, digital platforms, and emerging technologies. Reporting into the Tech Lead, you'll play a key role in ensuring the quality of new products and platforms by designing test strategies, building automation frameworks, and getting hands on with both manual and automated testing.
This isn't a traditional test role - you'll be expected to contribute ideas, help shape best practice, and get involved in some really interesting work around AI and new tech. It's very much a "startup within a larger business" feel, so you'll need to be comfortable with change, happy to take ownership, and genuinely interested in innovation.
What you'll be working on
- Developing test strategies across APIs, integrations, and low code solutions.
- Creating and maintaining automated test suites to improve efficiency and coverage.
- Carrying out manual testing and identifying opportunities to automate.
- Building test plans, defining scope, and ensuring everything meets high quality standards.
- Working closely with developers, product managers, and analysts to deliver robust software.
- Getting exposure to AI, GenAI, and other emerging technologies as part of the team's wider projects.
About You
We're looking for someone with around 2-6 years' experience in software testing who's ready to step into a specialist role. You'll need a solid technical grounding in back end testing and automation, alongside the confidence to work independently in a fast moving environment.
Key skills and experience:
- Strong understanding of software testing principles and automation.
- Experience with tools like Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
- Programming experience (Python, Java, etc).
- Exposure to Agile or DevOps environments.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm for digital innovation, AI, and exploring new technologies.
Bonus points if you bring:
- ISTQB or other testing certifications.
- Knowledge of data science or analytics.
- Previous experience in a regulated industry (finance, legal, etc.).
Why Apply?
In return, they're able to offer a competitive salary (can discuss), 25 days holiday (plus 8 public), up to 8% matched pension, private healthcare, and more! Hybrid working is on offer, with two days per week in the Glasgow office.
This is a brilliant opportunity to join a team at an exciting stage of growth. You'll have the chance to help shape the culture, bring in fresh ideas, and make a real impact on how technology is used across a global business.
If this sounds like something you'd like to be involved with, apply below or get in touch with Lewis at Cathcart Technology.
