By defining tooling strategy, governing standards and ways of working, and enabling consistent automation practices across all lines of business, this role strengthens BT's ability to scale automation safely, efficiently, and sustainably.You will act as the central design, governance, and tooling authority for federated automation teams - shaping how they work, the tools they use, the quality they deliver, and the visibility we maintain across processes, licensing, and platform health. Your work directly impacts cost optimization, platform stability, compliance, reusability, and speed to market. What you'll be doing Tooling & Platform Strategy Define the long-term tooling strategy for automation and related design/engineering workflowsStandards, Documentation & Ways of Working Own and evolve standards, guidelines, and approval flows that govern automation deliveryGovernance & Compliance Lead governance for process registration across all LoBs, ensuring every automation is correctly catalogued, approved, and monitoredReusability, Integration & Ecosystem Development Improve identification of reusable components, frameworks, and acceleratorsInsights, Analytics & Reporting Build and manage dashboards that provide visibility into licensing, Process inventory, Utilization, Failure trends, Automation health, Delivery performance and moreStakeholder, Vendor & Cross LOB Collaboration Maintain strong relationships with architecture, delivery leads, product owners, and automation managers across all federated teams Experience you'll have Core Skills Strong ability to translate business needs into strategy, standards, and governance structures Deep understanding of automation lifecycle methodologies (design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring) Strong analytical mindset; experience designing dashboards and insights to drive decisions Excellent written documentation, ability to create standards, playbooks, and guidelines. Strong vendor management and stakeholder management skills Technical Skills Understanding of automation tools (Blue Prism or similar), integration patterns, and enterprise workflows Experience working with analytics toolchains for dashboarding and reporting Awareness of modern technology trends-AI, low code, automation discovery tools Desirable Knowledge of low code platforms, AI driven automation discovery, or process mining tools. Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks.
